Sifflet Insights provides up-to-date information about upstream data quality issues directly in your business intelligence (BI) tool.

The Sifflet Insights browser extension is supported on all Chromium-based browsers, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave.
The Sifflet Insights browser extension currently supports Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, Looker, Power BI, Qlik, and MicroStrategy. Support for additional BI tools is in progress.

Download the Sifflet Insights Browser Extension from the Chrome Web Store. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store, whichever Chromium-based browser you use.

Go to Sifflet > Settings > Access Tokens and click New Access Token.

Then:

Give your token a name
Select a role. Make sure to give it the Viewer role.
Select an expiration date (see more details here)
Select the domains the token should apply to and assign a domain role for each. We recommend assigning the Viewer role for better security practices.
Click Generate
Copy and securely store the token (it is only shown once)

The selected domains must include access to the relevant assets (e.g., dashboards)

Set up the browser extension by filling out your Sifflet URL and Access Token input fields. Then click the Setup button.

Navigate to your BI application, open a dashboard/report/etc., click the Sifflet Insights bubble and start exploring.

Make sure the configured parameters contain the expected values:

The Your Sifflet URL field should contain the URL you use to connect to your Sifflet application. If you use Sifflet SaaS, this URL should follow a pattern such as <TENANT_NAME>.siffletdata.com. Make sure there are no extra spaces at the beginning or at the end of the URL.
The Access Token field should contain the access token you got from your Sifflet application (or that someone on your team shared with you).
Domain access (important)
Ensure the access token has been configured with domain-level permissions and includes access to the relevant assets (e.g., your BI dashboards).
A token with only a global role (e.g., Viewer) and no domain access will not work.
