Failing Rows
Overview
Failing Rows are those rows in a dataset that didn't meet the monitor criteria or that caused errors during processing. This can happen for various reasons, and Failing Rows helps you debug.
How To
Preview
To see the rows that caused the monitor to fail, go to the Failing Rows view, available from the Overview Tab in the Monitor Details Page. There is a separate Failing Rows Preview available for each monitor run that detected anomalies.
You can select which columns to display in the Failing Rows preview.
By default, columns are automatically filtered to be the ones used in the monitor itself. For example, for an "Is an email" monitor, the monitored column will be selected. In case the monitor is incremental, the time window column will also be selected. Note that this is a best effort process and in some cases (for example, a Custom SQL monitor), it is not possible to filter the columns and all columns are selected by default.
Download
You can also download a CSV file with a list of rows that caused the monitor to fail. You can download the file in 2 formats:
- .csv: Standard format, using commas (",") as separators.
- .csv for Excel: Uses semicolons (";") as separators.
You can open the downloaded file with a spreadsheet program like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
Download row number limitThe CSV file includes at most 20,000 rows. If the list exceeds the limit, Sifflet truncates it and includes only the first 20,000 rows in the exported file.
There is no limit on the number of lines displayed in the Failing Rows Preview.
